Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Mike Praska Travel collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It's written in plain English. If anything is unclear, just email me. In this policy, "I," "me," and "my" mean Mike Praska and Mike Praska Travel.

Who I am

Mike Praska Travel is an independent agency with the Avoya Travel Network, based in Minnesota and working with travelers across the United States. You can reach me at mike.praska@avoyanetwork.com.

Information I collect

Information you give me. When you fill out the Start Here questionnaire, schedule a call, or email me, you may share things like:

• Your name, email address, and any other contact details you choose to give
• Who's traveling, including names and ages
• Travel dates, destinations, budget, and preferences
• Anything else you choose to tell me, such as accessibility needs, dietary needs, or special occasions

When it's time to book, I may also need details that cruise lines, resorts, and tour companies require, such as legal names as they appear on ID, dates of birth, citizenship, and passport information.

Payment details. Payments for your trip are processed securely through the travel suppliers. Depending on the supplier, I may see your card details while making a booking for you. When I do, I handle them securely, in line with payment card industry (PCI) standards.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this one receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and understand overall traffic.

How I use your information

• To answer your questions and plan, quote, and book your trip
• To stay in touch before, during, and after your trip
• To share your booking details with the travel companies providing your trip
• To keep records that I or my host agency are required to keep
• To understand, in general terms, how the website is used so I can improve it

I don't sell or rent your personal information, and I don't contact clients by text message.

Who I share it with

• Travel suppliers, such as cruise lines, resorts, and tour operators, as needed to book and manage your trip. Once they have your information, their own privacy policies apply.
• Allianz Travel Insurance, the travel insurance company I work with, when you choose to buy a policy. Allianz's own privacy policy applies to the information it receives.
• The Avoya Travel Network, my host agency, which supports booking and record keeping.
• The service providers listed below, which help me run this website and my business.
• Others when required by law, for example in response to a valid legal request.

Tools and services I use

These companies handle some information on my behalf. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Tern is the client-management system I use. It runs the Start Here questionnaire and stores client records, questionnaire answers, and trip files.
• Nylas runs the Schedule a Call page and receives the name, email address, and time you choose.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and processes the technical information described above. If I turn on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it counts visits in aggregate without using cookies.
• Google Fonts supplies the website's typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads its fonts.
• Email runs through the Avoya Travel Network's email system, so messages you send me are stored on Avoya's servers.
• Tally (if and when the Traveler Spotlight opens) collects photo and story submissions.

Cookies and analytics

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from abuse. The questionnaire and scheduling pages are run by Tern and Nylas, which may use their own cookies under their own policies.

Traveler Spotlight photos and reviews

If you send me a review, or a photo and story for the Traveler Spotlight, I'll only publish it with your permission. Every submission is reviewed by me before anything appears, and you choose how your name is shown. I remove location data from photos before posting them. Submissions are only posted on this website, my Facebook page, and my Instagram account. If you'd like something taken down later, email me and I'll remove it.

Keeping your information safe

I take reasonable steps to protect your information and only share it as described here. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send full card numbers or passport scans by regular email unless I've asked for them in a specific, secure way.

How long I keep information

I keep client records for as long as you're my client. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see "Your choices" below). Travel suppliers' requirements or the law may mean some booking records have to be kept longer.

Your choices

You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete the information I have about you. Just email me. Some booking records may need to be kept for supplier, legal, or accounting reasons, and I'll tell you if that applies. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable law, including Minnesota law.

Children's information

Family trips often include children. Their details are provided by a parent or guardian and used only to plan and book the trip. This website isn't directed to children, and I don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
